This artifact indicates that the artisan is a member of at least one trade guild. Guilds are a team system within the handmade community that provide for cooperative efforts to learn, teach, compete, and improve the community and the arts. Guilds have their own virtual Guild Hall, forums, Art Cast channel, and Gallery. A Guild Artisan is an active participant in at least one Trade Guild. I will have to check out and see what other Artifacts I can earn,because this is a real honor.It is a great feeling.I love ArtFire! 8) I am having a sale this weekend at my ArtFire. Hello my friends.I have had a very productive couple of days off work.Yesterday I cleaned house and did well,mom stuff.Today I made some jewelry got some editing done and took some pictures.All in all I feel I got a lot done.I wanted to get pictures with my light box but I just didn't have time to play with it.I have to make some minor adjustments with the light and camera angle then I should be able to produce some of the nicest pictures I have taken yet.As soon as I get everything tweaked I will share it with ya. Yeah,I made it! I have two days off from work so I can get started on pictures today with the new light box I built.I am so excited. Everything in my world is going great I hope you are doing even better.I better get to work I have over 500 items to take pictures of it will probably take a month to get them done but the results should be worth the patience LOL 8)
Well The part time waitress job is going great.Being a holiday weekend of course has made us very busy.If you look at my back side I am sure you will see the big shoe print,because I got my ass kicked yesterday LOL. I only have two more days to go then I will get a day off. I hope I make it.When I was twenty years younger this kind of work was a piece of cake,it is a lot more challenging then I remembered.Anyways I have still been spending 4-6 hours on editing items in my jewelry shops.I have been working with the jewelry pricing formula and I am making adjustments.In a couple of weeks I will be adding new pictures to my shops I am so excited about this I can't wait to get all the pictures done.They will make my shops have a cleaner look.I hope you all have a great Memorial day today.I am so thankful to all of our hero's and heroins who have served our great country.THANK YOU! Without all of their sacrifices we wouldn't have such a great place to raise our children. 8)
Things are going great.Had a great day off today.Mowed the grass,went to my youngest daughters 4th grade Concert.It was awesome.I even got some house cleaning and laundry done,and to top it all off.As if that wasn't already enough accomplishments for one day I finally put together that light box I was telling you about.I took a few test pictures and I have to say I LOVE the results.I can't wait to share this with you,I am really tied up the next few days with the Memorial Holiday weekend.I should have it posted by mid week.All in all this was a great day off I am exhausted.I am looking forward to work tomorrow so I can get a little rest.LOL
Yes that is the only way I can describe this week.The new job is great!I absolutely love it.I am not sure what the currant definition of part time is but according to my schedule it is only working 5 days this week.(Excuse me sir but I am looking for a part time, part time job).LOL Just kidding, I am grateful I will get the opportunity to work this holiday weekend I should hopefully make lots of money:)I am still keeping up with my Jewelry listings and I even made a pair of earrings this morning before work.I have pictures to edit sometime between dinner and laundry,50 push ups,100sit ups, and 200 jump rope.Life doesn't get any better than this y'all I love to be Crazy Busy!I hope you are having a great week! 8)
I am excited to tell you I started my new part time job today and it was awesome.Really nice people ,great hours I should have no trouble keeping up.I am relieved and very thankful for such great blessings.I am actually looking forward even to learning something new.I hope I will fall into a routine soon.Some time in the next week or so I am I think this is going to put together a light box.My husband pulled the directions off the internet last December the materials are just sitting in the corner I think I have put it off plenty long enough. I will take lots of pictures and post the project soon 8)
I have been practicing it over and over and I still no gotta my Kata.LOL For those of you who may not know,Kata are formal exercises practiced daily for karate.I have to perform two different ones tomorrow at the tournament.No it's not enough to get my butt kicked you also have to endure a great amount of humiliation to rank up.LOL I am just kidding I love Karate I am just extremely nervous that's all.Anyway my girls and I will be giving it our all tomorrow.Not the typical Sunday family day,but still a great one I hope.I better go practice now,have a fantastic weekend my friends!

Well the last couple days I have spent trying to fix my computer.Error 105 was really starting to make me mad!After hours of tech support we finally have it fixed I hope.At least i am back online.I even listed a new item without getting kicked off.So now I can get on with my life.LOL I have recently joined "Handmade Artists Forum".I was looking for a place to learn and I am sure this is it! Almost there.I have been doing what I always do before every show.Cramming.lol I work like a dog to finish as many items to take with as I can.I have enough but I always feel like I need to make more.I am sure I am not the only one with this weird quirk.Okay maybe I am.Lol Tomorrow morning I will run last minute errands and then I will take pictures of my newest creations.Then I will head over to Luchenbach and set up my booth.I will share this with you as soon as I get the pictures done.I did a few triple stranded necklaces.Man I am getting butterflies again.Here is a picture of a custom ordered Chocolate Cultured pearl necklace,and some hemalyke earrings i just finished.Now I am gonna go load up and head for Luchenbach,wish me good look!
Hello my friends.The party was a success for my friend and I.We both did very well.A Huge Thank you to the Alamo Springs Community for supporting my beading addiction.I learned a great deal also.I will be doing my best to line up a few more of those parties this summer.Starting tomorrow I will be getting ready for the Hill Country Run Motorcycle Rally at Luchenbach Texas This weekend.This will be my 5th year I think for this event.I love it .The best part for me is I don't have to go far Luchenbach is my back yard.It is more like fun than work. I have been working overtime trying to get ready for the party Saturday.I ran an add and I have fliers to give out on Friday.I am working on price tags today.I bought a new camera yesterday.My other one fried.All the pictures I took of the blue bonnets last week turned out horrible.Any way I can't wait to take some pictures of the Mary Kay/TamsJewelry party.I have lots to do. Hello my friends.Response's to my posts yesterday from here and Artfire Forums have prompted me to stop the sale for several different reasons.Yes I do listen.No I do not want to cheapen or devalue my work or any ones Else's either.With that said I have edited my three shops the sale and experiment are over.I know I told ya I would run this sale till April 15th if there is something you had your eye on let me no I will adjust it for you right away.I learned many things to prompt me make many changes.It will of course take some time to apply all these useful tips.Such as I need to have different items in each store so I don't confuse Google with duplicate titles and descriptions.They will all be edited accordingly hopefully before summer.Next I have to let loose with the pictures.Add some excitement I guess you would say.Want to have this done by October.Let's just say I have my work cut out for me.Thank you all so much for your help with this.I have to get myself pumped up for karate.It's tough,I am sore from the beating I got in forums last night.Just like me to learn everything the hard way.LOL Have a great Monday My Friends!!!!!!!
Well I posted in forum about thoughts on the sale and pretty much everyone agrees I need to raise my prices.I have heard that such a low price cheapens my work.I was even told that it was a boner idea and i think that wasn't meant to be a good thing.Any way I will continue to keep the low prices no matter the out come since I promised to keep it going till April 15th.However I have come to the conclusion so far this was probably one of my worst ideas.Live and learn.And a very kind soul directed me to a great blog that gave a formula for pricing jewelry and yes according to the formula I will be adjusting my prices by mothers day.Thank you all so much for your advise and direction in this matter.Yes thanks for helping me find my wayhttp://www.home-jewelry-business-success-tips.com/pricing-handmade-jewelry-too-low.html
I am doing an experiment.I had put pearl earrings $5.00 free gift and free shipping posted at all three shops.Two weeks no sales, crazy.I just no when the customers see the quality they will come back.Any ways did some research.Decided to do something totally crazy out of desperation for first sale at my Zibbet.I changed those five dollar earrings to .10 plus shipping minus the free gift.Leaving me no worse off cost wise and On Etsy I got 19 sales Artfire 0 sales Zibbet 0 sales.Now I am not sure why it is not working at the other two shops.I am gonna continue this experiment until my birthday next week.I will let ya know how it's going.If you need some great earrings at an awesome price please check them out.First buyer on Zibbet will get something special for helping me out.If you know any techniques that might work let me no.I am always open to suggestions.

Well I am anxious to see what you think.I made these using Microsoft works word processor.First justify line spacing.Then insert text box and right click go to format text box click size height make 1.75 width 3. Now drag box to side of page.Repeat this step till you have two rows across and five boxes down.Now click on a box insert picture.After you select your picture hit insert.Now right click on picture select format picture first select tight(this will allow you move the picture where you want)now click size change height to.87 width 2. now select ok.I know the picture looks to big just move it till it fits into and at the bottom of box.Now repeat this nine more times and all that is left is to print.Cut and fold.Well what do ya think?

I totally feel like the hamster running in that stationary wheel.Running and running but going no where. I decided today to stop trying to do everything.I even ordered some business cards.In the past I have always made my own,my graphic design skills however are very limited.I can't wait to see how they come out. I am always looking for ways to improve my jewelry shops too.I am working on pictures a few everyday.By Christmas I want to feature different items in all three shops.I have added spring sale items and I am also working on editing my descriptions and tags.I ordered more sterling silver and cultured pearls and Rosary components and some higher grade turquoise .I have rented a booth for Hill Country Run at Luchenbach Texas.The event is April 30-May 2nd.If your in the neighborhood stop by and say hello.The next issue I need to deal with is changing my packaging to something more personal and environmentally friendly.I know one of my friends blogged about paper folded boxes,who was that now?Anyway I feel I have a grasp on this area of my life. My home however needs a lot more attention. I hope you are not coming over anytime soon because It's a mess.A constant work in progress.Haha I have been clipping coupons and hopefully it will start paying off.That project seems too take a bit of time also.I have enjoyed reading all the tips my coupon friends have been sharing.Thank you! Today I am gonna finish my spring cleaning to do lists.It really is more like a book than a list.I am not really sure where to start.I guess lawn maintenance seems to be the priority this morning.So I am gonna see if I can get the mower and the weed eater going today.Sounds exciting ?LOL Lunch i need to pick up my girls from school the oldest is getting reading glasses today yes I have a busy day planned.I am feeling a bit overwhelmed but it certainly didn't keep me from playing tag this morning.I don't even regret it.I have to get busy,have fun everyone!!!!!!!
Well we made it.The camping trip was great.Only one other girl was able too make it so we only had three girls to care for.We back packed the two miles to our primitive camping spot.Pitched two tents.And it was awesome.Enchanted Rock is so Huge.The second largest in the United States I think.We hiked 21 miles.The girls were real troopers.We froze at night though one night 33degrees.Made a mental note when planning spring break camping trips,rent a cabin.Save the primitive camping for late spring or fall.Camping is for warmer weather.We all had a great time.I will cherish the memories.I am certain the girls will all remember it for a long time as well.I think it will be a while before they beg to go camping.I will post some pictures, still putting stuff away.Hope to find the camera soon.I am tired I need a vacation, now that we are back from vacation.LOL

First I have to tell ya I am so proud of both my daughters.Angela and Stephanie both ranked up in karate last night.And yes,I am veryyyy sore,But it was so worth it,I ranked up also.Proof that miracles haven't ceased.lol Now I have to work harder though the next one will take me 9 months to earn.3 more tournaments (3 more opportunities to get my ass kicked)haha.Well,I better get to work.My boss is a -itch when I am not being productive.

Every March 1st brings me a bad case of Spring fever.Exactly six weeks to my 4? birthday.I can still loose 30 more pounds if I push myself(starve myself).LOL I gave up cigarettes. Two packs a day for 28 years cold turkey,two years ago Jan.told myself if I could do that I could do anything.I instantly gained 60 pounds.Haha I signed my daughters and I up for Karate last summer.Yes you heard me right.They say it's all about conditioning,but once you start sparring you quickly realize it's all about not getting your ass kicked.Lol Any way I am not stopping till black belt.By the time my 4th and 6th graders are graduated we will all be there. Any way I have lost 30pounds already.I hope to be down another twenty by the end of the year.I also want to loose some clutter around my house.And I have spring cleaning.I have two craft projects to work on so I can share them with you.Spring fever has hit me.I want it too get here so all this work is behind me,and I can sit back and feel total control over my chaotic life on my beautiful spring birthday.Wish me luck.I have also been taking some time each day to visit blogs I follow I am really enjoying getting to you all.

I wish i wasn't starting my Monday feeling so behind,overwhelmed,stressed.I suppose I just had to much fun yesterday.Jesse and I rode a couple hundred miles.We stopped in Marble Falls for breakfast then we cruised to Inks Lake state park.The park was great wold flowers and butterflies everywhere.From there we went to Llano for lunch and back roads to Castell.Back home in time to make dinner.Beautiful weather awesome day!How was your weekend?

I just have to tell ya Sunday was a great memorable Valentines day for me.It started off great my husband and i took our daughters to church.By the time church was out about lunch it was 68degrees and sunshine.So my husband(Jesse) and i decided to take are girls to their grandmas so we could spend the afternoon riding our Harley through the Texas hill country.It was so beautiful about 4:00 70 degrees awesome.We ate BBQ in Boerne and headed to a little country store in Berghiem.We heard they had a sale on chaps that was my valentines present i was excited.Anyways we get there they had 1 set of chaps left to long but i got them anyways(i'll alter them later).This is the funny part i swear when we came out of the store the temperature had dropped thirty degrees.Yes i no the weather can change in an instance in Texas but i was caught without my long johns folks and wasn't to happy about it. I have been visiting some really cool blogs.There are so many talented writers around.Well I recognize the creative skills God gave me,And writing surely isn't one of them,so I think i want to be a reader for a while l.o.l.I laughed a whole lot today all in all it was a great day.I am really having fun around here thanks to all my new friends.
Man i am so glad that it is here.I've never been in such a hurry to slow down.L.O.L. Well i haven't added my printer but my P.C. is better than ever.I am so thankful.I am using the google chrome and i love it. Today i am gonna sign up for a flicker account. I lost all my pictures,And i ordered a memory thing it should be here soon.Live and learn.Life is good in my world hope yours is great also!Gonna see how many pictures i can edit in a morning.
Well i replaced the hard drive now i need to catch up on everything.First i need to check my e mails and add my printer and well, i am sure this will be a bussssssy day. I am feeling really overwhelmed at the moment,I am gonna try to pull it all together now wish me luck.
Do you think when someone asks you" how does this look?",that they really want an honest answer? I mean when i ask my husband "Honey does this skirt make me look to old?",and he replies "No it's not the skirt that makes ya look like that",well i am rethinking this whole honesty thing.I am barely 35. Okay maybe that's a little off. Any way a lady asked me today what i thought of her store? It was over priced.Her pictures were dark. Her product didn't look appealing at all. I was trying my best to think of something nice.That's when this question popped into my head.Should i be honest,or nice? Well i did the next best thing,I told her i would get back to her. So here i am trying really hard to think of something constructive,unharmful,honest and nice.Well on the bright side at least i don't have to look her in the eye if I lie.L.O.L. Really what is you opinion? I would really like to know.

This has been a very busy weekend. This has without a doubt been the most productive day so far this year. I Made a few necklaces.I made a few knew friends today and joined in on my first etsy virtual workshop(so cool),very enlightening.I even got my Fan Page published.Now I am exhausted. I have to plan a giveaway tomorrow.Life just doesn't get any better than this.
The new schedule is working well. I have been really productive the last few days.By doing a little of this and that here and there it's all starting to come together.I received a beautiful jewelry tree for Christmas,I love it! I have been playing around with the pictures and i am happy with the results. I would sure love to no what you think.The last couple of things i've posted on etsy and Artfire have tree pictures added.Also i've got a new box of rocks,i've got a lot of new stuff to work on i am overjoyed.I love my Job!!!!!
I have been searching for the balance family,work,exercise.I think i am close to achieving it ,then something happens to make me realize i have a ways to go. So as another step of self improvement i am gonna try a schedule.(Don't laugh),I can do this.My new schedule will allow me time for all the things i love.Family,friends,karate,Jewelry,motorcycle road trips,camping(okay you get the picture).I think maybe i am a bit ambitious. I'll work it out and let ya no how it's going soon.
I am so excited about all the changes 2010 has brought. I am about to take the leap and quit my day job to focus on my family and jewelry. I am a little scared.However i have been working the last three years to get to this point and finally I am here.I realize it means more shows,now that my daughters are getting older i can safely take them with me.And i realize it is a lot more computer time but i am really starting to like this part of the job to(now that i no how to send an email). I think i am about good to go.Wish me good luck!
Okay i am doing much better today i think . I got a lot of new product finished today just need to take the pictures and post them tomorrow. I have a lot of goals set for this year and i no it will be interesting to see if i can maintain my sanity.Wish me luck!
I am still trying to finish end of the year stuff. I haven't set bussiness or personal goals yet. Okay well i did tell myself i would add 30 minutes to my dailey workout. My shoulders are killing me,i am not so sure the extra pushups are worth the pain. I skipped the jump rope (no joke intended). I am supposed to do 150 a day.Today i did 0 and i am very dissapointed in myself. I am not even going to lie to myself and say i'll make it up tomorrow. I am gonna pray i have the strength to do my 150 and be happy. Tomorrow i will be prepared for 2010,better late then never.
POOR PEOPLE ?
One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live. They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.
On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?'
'It was great, Dad.'
'Did you see how poor people live?' the father asked.
'Oh yeah,' said the son.
'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.
The son answered:
'I saw that we have one dog and they had four.
We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end. We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night. Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others. We buy our food, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.'
The boy's father was speechless.
Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.'
Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.
